Muhanga JADF open day (The opening)

An open day is an event organized by an institution or organization to showcase its facilities, programs, services, and opportunities to the general public. It is typically held on a specific day or a series of days and is designed to provide an insight into what the institution or organization has to offer.

This time an open day organized by JADF members was held where the old market was located in Muhanga District. JADF members come from institutions and organisations operating at District level including public, private, local and international NGOs, Faith-based organisations and other development partners.

JADF serves as a non-hierarchical discussion platform in which every member has equal role to play: representing their constituency, provide open, complete and transparent information about their development activities and results, discuss progress made in the District towards sustainable and inclusive local development, learn and eventually improve. Thus, JADF meetings are a key platform facilitating the implementation of effective decentralization by providing a forum for service provision and development planning accountability.

Open days are commonly organized by educational institutions such as schools, colleges, and universities. Our organization (STC) is also contributing in this opening day where all activities that are being implemented in STC are presented to the public. During these events, prospective students, parents, and other interested individuals are invited to visit the stands of different organizations and individuals, attend presentations, interact with STC members and some of the activities like hand crafts and home decorations that are made by mothers of children with disabilities.

Our values Mission and Visions are presented to the public and we were open for relevant questions being asked by different audience around.

Overall, open days are an opportunity for people to get a firsthand experience of an institution or organization, ask questions, gather information, and make informed decisions about their future involvement or engagement.

We are happy to be in a number of people attending this day
