STC's Gift of Mobility and Comfort for a Boy with Cerebral Palsy
In the heart of Stand Together for Change, there lies a story of a boy ISHIMWE Damien who was born with no disability but at his 4 months he got cerebral malaria which was affecting his brain and led to the physical and mental disability with epileptic seizures,
His parents are old and poor which made Damien's challenges multifaceted, with mobility being a primary concern. Everyday tasks, such as going to the toilet, presented significant hurdles in addition to his parents being old, it's not easy to carry him there
Recognizing his need for support, STC stepped in with a remarkable solution – a specially designed chair that provided Damien with the freedom to manage his personal needs without assistance. This innovative chair, equipped with the necessary functionalities of the toilet, This offered Damien newfound independence and dignity. STC also provided Damien with bed materials designed to enhance his well-being.
we do advocacy to run our initiatives and our actions started in january 2020 we started with nothing unless the family members efforts and our professional knowledge to carry on these initiatives
